I have certifications in numerous fitness programs, including Pilates, GYROTONIC®, Integral Hatha Yoga, and Barre Intensity®. As a former ballet dancer, I am able to use my formal training and respect of the human body to improve the quality of my clients' lives. I have created, managed, and directed exclusive wellness and fitness centers throughout the country and have taught over 12,000 fitness classes. My love of health, fitness, and wellness is at the core of Providence Health and Fitness, and I hope you will join me and my staff to begin your journey to your healthiest life!

As well as being the founder of the New Jersey School of Massage, which is the oldest massage school in New Jersey, I’m also the director of massage therapy services for four elite massage therapy facilities. I have been a massage practitioner since 1975 and have treated more than 50,000 people! With advanced degrees and training in massage therapy, nutrition, counseling, education, interfaith ministry, meditation and music, I have touched and inspired the lives of many. I love to share my experience, expertise, and guidance with the clients at Providence Health and Fitness, as they work toward physical, mental, and spiritual health and balance. Barre Intensity®, Pilates
I am a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) which stresses the balance of strength, endurance, and flexibility. I am also certified in Pilates for the Reformer,  beginner, and advanced mat Pilates. I am part of the master trainer program for Barre Intensity® and I teach this class here at Providence Barre Intensity® combines attributes of Pilates, dance, and functional fitness training. I am also available for Personal Training Sessions by request.

I am a Power Pilates certified Pilates Instructor, and an American Council on Fitness, Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. I have been in the fitness industry for over 25 years teaching and training at the JCC in West Orange, The Spa at Short Hills and my own business "The Fitness Loft" in Maplewood for 13 years. I am available for Pilates personal training here at Providence Health and fitness on Tuesdays.

I have been a professional dancer for nearly 30 years, beginning my career teaching ballroom dancing at Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray studios. I expanded my career into theatrical dance, performing on Broadway and with several companies including the world-famous Joffrey Ballet. I am thrilled to be sharing my passion for dance, teaching both Zumba® and Ballroom Dancing right here in New Providence.

As a child, I studied Classical Ballet at the Academy of Fine Arts in Pereira, Colombia. I am now a fitness instructor in different disciplines such as Zumba® and BollyDaZz®, which mix dance, aerobics, corporal expression, and toning in a fun and exciting workout. I love to choreograph dance styles including Hip-Hop, Soca, Salsa, Merengue, Mambo, Martial Arts, and Bollywood into my classes, and share my international experience and flair with you!

Barre Intensity®, Yoga

I am a graduate of the Juilliard School for Dance and have been practicing Yoga since 1999, and teaching since 2006 after earning my Yoga teacher training certification from the American Yoga Academy. I teach several Yoga and Fitness classes here at Providence Health and Fitness, including a Yoga Power Core Class on Wednesday evenings which mixes weights and core work into the Vinyasa Flow. My Friday morning Vinyasa combines breath work with flow under my magical, spiritual guidance. This class will reinvigorate the connection between your mind and body - what Yoga is all about.

Tai Chi and Chi Kung

I studied internal and external martial arts with several masters, focusing on the application of Tai Chi and Chi Kung to improve health for the last 15 years. I have taught many students over the years, including conducting classes at Saint Clare's Center for Alternative Medicine in conjunction with Dr. John Brent Forward. I am the co-founder of Traditional Tai Chi Chuan Associates of America (TTCCAA) and teach Tai Chi Chuan on Sunday mornings at Providence Health and Fitness. (please link to Tai Chi page.)

I have a lifelong passion for dance, receiving two college degrees - an AFA in performance and a BA in a concentration in studio operations, which led me to perform and choreograph shows all over the Tri-State area. I have taught dance for fifteen years, and aerobics and Zumba® classes for the last ten years. I reinvented my life to be kinder to my body and fell in love with Yoga, and became an instructor. I have trained in many styles of Yoga, and teach all styles from chair and restorative, to power Yoga classes. I integrate modifications into my teachings, as I understand every human body is unique. All ages are welcome to my class! As a Reiki Master, I will bring some of the healing energy into class as you are guided and transformed. Namaste

I am a certified RYT, and have been practicing Yoga for over 20 years, after finding the gift of Yoga as an avid runner seeking an alternative to pounding the pavement. I’m certified through Integral Yoga Institute 200-hour Hatha Yoga program in New York City. I knew I wanted to teach and share the amazing experience of Yoga with children, so I trained with Jodi Komitor and received certification to teach Kids Yoga through Next Generation Yoga. I also have received certification in Post Natal through Jyothi Larson at Karma Kids in NYC plus Prenatal through Integral Yoga Institute of New York. I strongly believe in the power of Yoga's stress reduction and studied and became certified in Restorative through Yoga Works/Jillian Pransky and studied with Brenda Strong Yoga 4 Fertility. I believe that anyone at any age and any ability should enjoy the many benefits of Yoga and hope to inspire and teach that in my classes. I teach the Teen Yoga workshops here at Providence Health and Fitness, and also oversee the special classes for Girl Scouts to earn their Fitness badges. I am also a coach with the New Providence chapter of Girls on the Run.

Since childhood, I have been fascinated by art. I graduated from Ithaca College with dual BAs in Art History and Fine Arts with a concentration on Figure Drawing. Through an artist's eye I fell in love with the intricacy and beauty of the human form - Yoga was the next logical step. I have recently completed my 500-hours studying under my teacher and friend Tiffany Cruikshank. I consider my education ongoing, and so my practice and teaching are constantly evolving. I offer a challenging but accessible, sweet and sweaty practice suitable for all levels. I apply my knowledge to give you a balanced flow of body movement and release.

I am a certified Yoga Teacher RYT 500, Reiki Master, Certified Health Coach ' and have trained in many Energy Healing Modalities. I have been practicing Yoga and Reiki for over 18 years and teaching Yoga for nearly 10 years, embracing the Yoga lifestyle in every aspect of life. I have a Masters of Science in Yoga Therapy which gives me a better understanding of how the body and mind work in sync with one another as well as understanding the theories of health and disease relevant to the practice of Yoga and wellness. I presently teach Yoga 101 on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm. This class is an open-level class but geared for beginners and intermediate practices. However, my expertise allows me to create a class suitable for all levels. I am also available for private instruction and therapeutic Yoga sessions here at Providence Health and Fitness.

I’m an E-RYT 200, and a Jersey Girl with decades of Yoga experience. I began practicing Yoga to release tension and increase flexibility. As a competitive natural bodybuilder in the '90s, I was in desperate need of lengthening and nurturing my musculature. Amazed at how Yoga created balance in my body and mind, I immersed myself in a variety of styles. I received my 200-hour teaching certification in the Hatha Vinyasa style from the Vibhuti Yoga School in New Jersey. My passion for everything Yoga guided me to learn other styles and to expand my practice. I now teach a variety of classes including Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra meditation. I’m known for my authentic style of teaching and my ability to adapt to my students' needs at any level or stage of life. My extensive understanding of anatomy and body mechanics has provided me with the unique ability to link science with the yoga-body connection. My continued education in philosophical, spiritual, and alignment-based instruction encourages my students' growth of their own physical and spiritual self.

I completed my 200 hour Yoga training in 2013 and my Prenatal Yoga training in January of 2015. I love teaching both Vinyasa Flow and Prenatal Yoga. My teaching style emphasizes the connection between breath and movement and finding strength, balance, and clarity. I encourage people to listen to their bodies, to breathe in what they are seeking in their practice and/or lives, and breathe out any obstacles that may get in the way of those intentions. Yoga, for me, is an active way to open up and and let go all while building strength and having fun! I teach the Aroma Flow Vinyasa with essential oils on Monday mornings. Come and start off your week by invigorating all of your senses!

I began practicing Yoga in 2008 to help regain muscle flexibility and functionality after injuries from contact sports and tight muscles from years of cycling and weightlifting. Initially, I was drawn to the physical aspects of Vinyasa Yoga but quickly began to appreciate the mental benefits. As my Yoga practice became more refined and I began to understand my body more, I realized that I didn't need to push my body to the max with every workout or Yoga practice. I earned my 200-hour certification in Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) from Yama Studio based in Baltimore in 2011. Later I earned my certification in Restorative Yoga from Laughing Lotus in New York City. I use my experience as an engineer and the understanding of anatomy to focus on proper alignment within each unique body. I draw upon experiences from my own Yoga journey to help guide students through my classes to make them challenging, safe, and fun.
